As the body of Christ, we believe in the importance of community outreach for the purpose of sharing the love of Christ and the gospel to the world...
Joy Banquet...
Below are pictures of our 2021 Joy Banquet, one of the church's many outreach projects to serve God, our community, and our church family. This year, due to COVID, we thought outside the box so that we could still serve our widows and widowers. Normally, we have a banquet with guest singers and speakers where our deacons exercise their role of service in one of many ways, serving those who have lost their spouses and simply letting them know that we are here and we care. This year, we delivered meals to all the widows and shut-ins who ordered a meal. We desire to show our community and family that we love them and care for them.
Trunk N' Treat...
Other than our normal children's and youth ministries, Trunk N' Treat is one of the biggest projects that our church enjoys doing to help provide a safe place where children (and some young at heart) are able to come and get candy during Halloween. We care about our community and the safety of the youth and children in our community. We love them all and want them to feel welcome, accepted, and loved when they visit us. This is also one of the opportunities that we take to give more than just candy. We share the gospel to every family by showing the love of Christ and providing them with at least one resource that can be used to learn more about Jesus Christ and His love. This particular year, we did it indoors due to inclement weather. We had some visitors from the Belvedere Fire Department and had a successful turnout.
Good News Club...
One of the greatest and most important things we can do as we reach out into the community for Christ is to share the gospel to our children. We are so blessed to have the privilege of being able to do this through a weekly after school program at one of our local elementary schools. We have some of the most dedicated volunteers who love our children... The future of our church.
Our Youth on a Mission...
Our youth ministry also participates in the various outreach endeavors of our church. Below are a few of our youth participating in one of our church mission projects. This was during a week where we served at a local elementary school to help in cleaning the grounds and sprucing things up while also making care packages for every teacher and letting them know how important they are to our community. This year, we also provided school supplies to students. Our children and youth are taught the importance of reaching out into the community and being servants of Christ.
Working Together with Other Missions...
Our church is one of the churches who also supports the endeavors of the Augusta Rescue Mission. We serve by going each month and ministering to the residents and even going occasionally and helping out with some of their maintenance and other various needs.
The Prayer Tent...
If you have driven by 421 Edgefield Rd. in North Augusta, it is possible that you have passed by this familiar sight... Our prayer tent. This is a ministry that we do regularly because we believe in the importance of prayer and we believe that it truly does work and that it changes lives. This is a ministry in which, anyone who drives by is welcome and encouraged to stop for prayer. We also give each person the option of following up with them if they desire. Anyone who comes for prayer should be comforted in knowing that the prayer tent is not the only time they will be prayed for. Even long after they leave the tent, we continue praying each day afterwards for every person who stops by our prayer tent.
Care Packages for Teachers...
We support education and we know that teachers need all the help, love, appreciation, and support that they can get. Each year, we always try to do something for the teachers in a local school. Though the material gift with which we try to bless our teachers is probably not even a drop in the bucket compared to the needs they have in the classroom, we hope that the wholehearted gesture will encourage them and affirm to them, that there is a church who loves and cares for them and that we are praying for them regularly. Teachers, we support you and your wholehearted endeavors to educate and impact the lives of your students!
Appreciating our Firefighters...
Here at First Baptist Belvedere, we support our firefighters and law enforcement. We want to serve them because they serve and protect us. The Lord instructs and leads us to be servants. Our firefighters and law enforcement do this on so many levels and they deserve our love and appreciation.
Parents' Night Out...
Sometimes, parents just need some time to themselves whether to catch up on errands, do Christmas shopping, attend important meetings, or even to relax with each other. We have a ministry to help you with that! Periodically, we host a parent's night out. This ministry provides a safe and very fun place for your children while you can get away for a while. Our youth even join in and help with this ministry periodically. We want you and your children to feel loved and cared for by us.
Supporting our Local Businesses...
We often like to go around to our local businesses and ask them how we can show them our support and care. We believe not only in supporting through our patronage but also, through prayer and simple gestures of care and love. During this particular time, we delivered lunches to all who owned and worked in the local businesses of Belvedere.
As you can see... We are a loving and caring church body who truly believes in serving God by reaching out to our community and ministering to ALL generations and social statuses within our community. We love you and care about you! If there's ever a way we can show you the love of Christ personally, please contact us.
