Belvedere First Baptist is very active when it comes to
missions. We have several groups to which the primary focus
is missions throughout our community, state, nation, and world.

Missions are made possible throughout the world through your
support of the Cooperative Program. Please continue to
support missions by giving to a local church that supports the
Cooperative Program.
Since its beginning in 1888, the Women's Missionary Union has
become the largest Protestant missions organization for women in
the world, with a membership of approximately 1 million. WMU's main
purpose is to educate and involve adults, youth, children, and
preschoolers in the cause of Christian missions. Although
originally geared towards women, girls, and preschoolers, both
genders are active participants in WMU organizations and ministries
today.
Principles Guiding the WMU
• Do Missions
• Learn About Missions
• Pray for and give to missions
• Develop spiritually towards a missions lifestyle
• Participate in the work of the church and the denomination
The WMU has various focus groups that meet periodically throughout
the month. They are as follows:
• WMU - 1st Wednesday of the month, 6:30 - 7:00 PM at the
church
• Morning Prayer Group - 4th Tuesday of the month, 10:30 AM - 12:30
PM in member's homes
• Evening Prayer Group - 1st Tuesday of the month, 7:00 - 9:00 PM
in member's homes
• WMU Circle - Activities as needed by the church
Mission Friends is the church missions organization of WMU for
preschoolers ages 3 through 5. The primary objective of Mission
Friends is to provide a strong foundation for preschoolers in a
Christian and missions lifestyle. Mission Friends provides
developmentally appropriate missions learning experiences to help
preschoolers move from a self-centered focus to a focus on others,
to become aware that not everyone knows about God's love, and to
understand ways they can help others know about this good
news!
Youth on Mission is our Wednesday night program geared to
ministry. Relevant Bible study is central to each meeting
followed by times of planning for ministry. YOM starts every
Wednesday night at 7:00 pm in the Youth HOUSE. Come join us.
