The Staff of Belvedere FBC

Bro. John has been the pastor of Belvedere First Baptist since April 20, 1997.  He was born in Augusta, Georgia and grew up in a small farming community 25 miles south of Augusta.  He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Augusta College (now Augusta State University) in 1977 and a Master of Divinity degree from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in 1981.  Before becoming pastor at Belvedere, he served on staff at churches in Georgia, Louisiana, and Alabama in a variety of positions including Minister of Music & Youth, Minister of Youth, Assistant Pastor/Youth, and Associate Pastor/Education.

Bro. John and his wife, Susan have been married 25 years and have a twenty-three year old daughter named Allison.

Tony grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and was involved in the ministry of Liberty Baptist Church through his college years.  After completing his Bachelor of Business Administration at Georgia State University he became a Training Instructor at Chick-fil-A Inc.  During his years at Chick-fil-A he felt God calling him to ministry.  In 1987, Tony entered New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.  It was in New Orleans that Tony met his wife, Dianne, in Sunday School at FBC New Orleans.  After completing his Master of Divinity degree at seminary in May 1989, he married Dianne and settled in the New Orleans area serving at First Baptist Church of LaPlace, Louisiana.  He served as Minister of Education and Youth until the fall of 1992.  When Dianne completed her PhD in neurobiology at Tulane University, the Snyders moved to North Augusta, SC where Dianne began teaching at Augusta State University and Tony began to serve as Minister of Education and Youth at Belvedere First Baptist Church in 1992.  At Belvedere he works with the youth and coordinates the education ministries of the church. Tony and Dianne have two boys, Jonathan and Adam.

Rev. Joshua Edwards came to Belvedere as Minister of Music & Adults in August of 2003.  He is a 2002 graduate of Carson-Newman College where he received the Bachelor of Music degree with a minor in Mathematics.  His principal instrument in college was the organ where he studied with Dr. Ryan Garber and conducting with Dr. Eric Thorson.  While at Carson-Newman he served as the organist for the A Cappella Choir, and as accompanist for the Women Singers.  Joshua was ordained into the ministry on October 12, 2003.  He is currently pursuing a Master of Ministry degree from Anderson University. His wife, Amy, teaches 4th grade at Greendale Elementary School in New Ellenton, SC.  Josh & Amy reside in North Augusta with their 2 sons, Logan and Parker, and their 2 dogs.
